Some works speak to what is in front of us. Others ask us to remember what stands behind us.
Of Descendants Past carries the weight of ancestry, memory and cultural inheritance — a visual conversation between those who came before and those entrusted with carrying the story forward.
In this 2014 mixed-media work, Larry Poncho Brown draws from a visual language rooted in Black identity, lineage and remembrance, creating a piece that feels both intimate and enduring.
For the collector, this is more than an image. It is a work about presence — about who we come from, what we carry, and what remains long after us.
